Emergency and Urgent Care Away From Home With Medicare
If you believe you are having a medical emergency, seek care immediately. Medicare Advantage plans must cover emergency and urgently needed services under applicable rules even when you are outside the plan’s service area, but follow-up care, routine care, transportation, and international care may be treated differently.
Call Gala Health · 934-222-5466How away-from-home care is handled
Carry your Medicare and plan cards, save bills and discharge records, and contact the plan as soon as reasonably possible after receiving care. Ask how the plan handles claims from non-network facilities and arrange covered follow-up care promptly. Do not delay emergency treatment while trying to obtain routine authorization.
